The Big Trip

Hands up - guilty as charged!!

Well.........

For the past year or so I've been wondering what all the fuss was about, after all it was only a kid's series of books about a vampire! Wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!!

Over the past ten days or so I've found myself with some unexpected me-time and my all-time passion is reading. So, bought myself, admittedly very sceptically, a copy of Twilight. Couldn't put the damned thing down. I forsook sleep and food to read the book every chance I got. Did it in 36 hours and absolutely adored it! By midnight last Friday I was a firm and committed member of Team Edward. That young man has more sex appeal that I would have thought possible to commit to paper.

By last night I'd managed to finish New Moon and Eclipse and watch Twilight on DVD. Have to admit that I found the DVD a tad disappointing but I'm always the same if I've read the book first.

Finally, I wouldn't say that I'm one for carrying my obsessions to any serious length. However......... this afternoon OH and I decided that given there were still no children in the house, we would head into town to do some bits and pieces of shopping. While we were wandering I commented that I needed a new everyday watch for work etc. Went into one of the jewellers and there it was - shouting at me - come buy me Gill, you know you want me!!!!

The delectable Sekonda Twilight no less! So, I confess, I've finally lost the plot but hey it's all good clean fun and will be even better when I settle down later tonight to start rereading Twilight - I loved that book sooooo much. Carole Griffin - I blame you and Tinks, and thank you at the same time. A little escapism has been a wonderful thing following on some of the stresses of late.

  1. I was exactly the same as soon as I started to read I was hooked I was reading it all the time and long into the night, I made myself ill lol I read all of them in a weekend as I couldnt live with the suspense. The ending is brilliant. The films however left me cringing and thinking thats not my edward and bella is sooo not like that so I dont watch them now.

Enjoy your new watch oh and I am soooo team Edward too!!!!

  2. I so get the obsession! I started reading the books to find out what the fuss was about - Even MR Holtz loved them - I too couldnt put it down and have read the whole series twice. If someone had told me I would fall in love with a vampire I would have laughed my socks off - however sadly Its true! I have to say though my total allegience is not with Edward all the time I go with Jacob moments too!

  3. Hahahaha! I'm delighted that you love Twilight as much as we do - I knew you would - everyone we have recommended them to has loved them! I agree with everything you say about Edward, and more!!! Watch the film again - it will grow on you I promise!

But why haven't you read "Breaking Dawn" yet? I must admit that it is my least favourite of the four but still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Enjoy your escapism, and get yourself a copy of New Moon DVD and then head to the cinema and indulge in Edward on the big screen - sigh!

  7. Hi there, I saw the Twilight film before I read the books. Im completely hooked. I cant wait for Breaking Dawn to come out in paperback in August, I have a hardback copy of course but hardbacks can be pain to read in bed LOL! I keep changing my mind between Team Edward and Team Jacob but when I saw Eclipse there was some wet Emmet action, and some of the New Born army wernt bad either......LOL!
    Enjoy your Twilight time.
